The Edge of Knowledge

I. Narrative.

Human knowledge, like sound, rises in levels. The first steps are clear and melodic: forms, laws, systems we can understand. Then, as we move toward the heights, the melody grows thinner, breaks, trembles. Beyond a certain point only faint chirping remains, and then silence. Not because there is nothing there, but because the ray of our understanding fades in the endless darkness. The unknown is not empty. Only our senses draw its borders.

II. Explanation.

Let us think of it as music. In the lower octaves we still hear the melody clearly; we hum it, we follow it. But the higher the octave in which the melody sounds, the softer and thinner it becomes, until it disappears to our ears. Yet the melody does not cease. We simply no longer hear it. So it is with the world: what we perceive is natural. But as we rise higher in our understanding of the world, we hear it less and less, until finally only silence remains. And still, the world continues to vibrate, to unfold, to exist. That is why it is always worth searching, questioning, moving forward, even if we know we will never be able to hear or understand everything completely.

III. Conclusion.

Here lies the limit of human knowledge, a place where understanding fades but curiosity never dies. Will we ever be able to cross this limit? As the boundaries of consciousness expand, the world opens up before us, revealing everything around us in ever greater clarity and unity. But in this moment, must we be content with what we know, should we really slow down? Well, the desire to understand all that surrounds us never leaves us; it will be with us forever. This is what drives us again and again into the unknown, for the desire for knowledge is encoded within us humans, constantly pushing us toward the unknown.
